Xserve is now available with up to two Intel Xeon 2.93 GHz and storage options that include a solid state drive (SDD) and up to 3 TB of storage capacity. The new Xserve is based on Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors running at a frequency ranging from 2.26 GHz to 2.93 GHz, each with an integrated memory controller with three channels at 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC that allows up to 2.4 times the memory bandwidth and low latency of up to 40 percent. Using a power supply highly efficient and intelligent thermal management, Xserve offers a rebate of 19 percent of power consumption when idle. Of the two basic configurations, the first has a single processor Quad-Core 2.26 GHz, while the configuration handsome, 8-core, Intel offers two Quad-Core Xeon 2.26 GHz and can be chosen in BTO with 2.66 or 2.93 GHz CPU

The storage capacity of the Xserve include a boot disk from 128 GB SSD option (for 450 € more) that requires a fraction of a hard disk and allows random access 48 times faster, without the commitment of drive bays. The three Xserve drive bays support 3.5-inch SATA 7,200-rpm and 15,000 rpm SAS and can be configured with up to 3 TB of storage inside.
